Am Essential RV Camping Hygiene Hack!
The RV camper lifestyle channels a quirky pioneer vibe, blending adventure, community, and nature. Yet, in such close quarters, travelers frequently face inevitable smelly poop odor situations. Discover how AirWisp toilet sprays banish that stinky funk, boosting comfort and eco-friendliness while single-handedly eliminating poop odor shame!
Recreational vehicles (RVS) may not be an offshoot of the sturdy covered wagons that served our pioneer forefathers well as they sought a better life of freedom and opportunity rolling across our untamed nation, but they do reflect a distinct life style that is pioneer-like, albeit not for everybody.
It is a culture that taps into the human psyche and its love of adventure, travel, camping, discovery, community and a personal connection with the land and nature.
It reflects the democratic nature of our great nation, attracting a demographic of all ages, backgrounds, walks of life and nomads, both real and digital.
The modern RV lifestyle is meshed with a desire to visit small, out of-the-way places and experience first hand their unique culture, food and history.
It represents the evolution of camping clubs like the Tin Can Tourists of the World, which was an organization of camping and trailering enthusiasts founded in 1919 at a Tampa Florida campground.
It provided its members with safe and clean camping areas and wholesome entertainment.
The RV life style is constantly evolving, offering more amenities and technology as well as a commitment to sustainability and practical living.
Specialized toilet sprays are becoming more and more popular companions for RV owners because they are convenient, hygienic and provide comfort.
The challenges of RV toilet maintenance differs from other spaces in many ways. For one thing, there are often odor issues arising from frequent use and compact waste tanks.
Space is limited and the chemical tank needs to be emptied frequently, which is a pain in places too impolite to mention and should only be done under cover of darkness, very late at night.
Heat and humidity make the smells worse than anything any human would experience in other types of bathrooms.
Is There An RV Personality?
Yes, there most certainly is.
Apart from needing an obviously more than adequate sense of direction, RV enthusiasts need to be knowledgeable about how their camper works.
This includes plumbing and electrical know how, which more than borders on DIY repairs, as most camps are far away from tow trucks, licensed anything or even helpful passersby.
A love of adventure, escape from mainstream travel and the exhilaration of discovery transforms the RV journey into a one of a kind experience that may present joy or trouble or both.
RV campers are thrifty and seek comfortable ways to experience the countryside.
They are open to new friendships, which in these isolating and divisive times can nourish important and fragile connections.
What Exactly Is RV Boondocking?
Boondocking, which is also known as boondoggling or dry camping, is a term which refers to camping without hookups to electricity, water or sewer systems.
This self sufficient type of adventure relies heavily on resources provided by the vehicle itself.
This setting can be sites on public lands such as: national forests and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), but can sometimes include store parking lots.
It is not an experience that occurs on a sudden whim to see the world in a new way, but rather requires careful planning and an ”I Was Never Here” attitude that will minimize your carbon footprint and reflect respect for planet Earth.
Toilet Sprays, RV Campers And Boondocking
Most tales about boondocking are positive in character, but like the whims of Mother Nature, this is not one of them.
One poor man had left his toothpaste, toilet spray and other personal items outside his tent and was suddenly awakened by strange gnawing sounds.
He told himself it was the wind, but this breeze was different, more insistent and growing louder by the moment.
Still, he managed to go back to sleep only to be awakened about twenty minutes later by a large family of squirrels that surrounded him on all sides.
They had gnawed through the tent, ripped open the toothpaste and ate it along his shaving cream after stepping accidentally on the aerosol pump. One of the little buggers had his toilet spray in his or her mouth.
Whatever they didn’t eat, they stole.
After cleaning up and re-patching most of the tent, he went back to sleep and when he awoke later and opened the flap, there was a black bear looking back at him.
Terrified, he gently closed the flap and cowered in back of the tent thinking he was going to die but not caring as long as the bear didn’t wake him up.
But all’s well did end well as he was packing up to leave. He saw something small lying in the grass a few feet away from his camper. It was the toilet spray.
There was an “hooray” there somewhere, but it was a hollow victory.
What Makes Air Wisp Toilet Sprays Unique
Our toilet sprays neutralize and eliminate rather than mask malodors. This fosters a cleaner toilet bowl by reducing bacterial accumulation.
They are also eco-friendly and their long lasting formulas make them cost effective as well. These sprays are comprised of sustainable ingredients and couldn’t be easier to use.
They are ideal for compact systems and their components differ from conventional RV chemicals. They offer non toxic options with ingredients that are bio-degradable and eco-friendly.
While our sprays are not substitutes for tank treatments, they are safe for black water holding tanks because when spritzed into the bowl before use, they create a barrier on the water’s surface that traps and breaks down odors and is far more effective than conventional air fresheners.
Our pre-poop sprays only address smells in the toilet bowl and the lack the enzymes or chemicals that would be necessary to break down waste and toilet paper in the holding tank.
They can’t be beat, however, when it comes to maintaining the holding tank, preventing clogs and foul smells within the enclosed space.
Some Amusing Stories Because They Happened to Somebody Else
Referred to as the Clear Valve Cover Incident by those who were there, both toilet spray and the black tank dump were the stars of this show.
The owner, whose name will not be revealed to protect the embarrassed, installed a clear valve so that he would always be able to know when the tank was empty.
Thinking himself pretty clever, after a full day of use he performed the dumping.
Alas, for the faulty seal on the valve caused it to open and release a Mt Vesuvius-like eruption of black water with sudsy fragrant bubbles and an immersive, spectacular vision worthy of a holiday Radio City Music Hall gala.
There is no moral here, as valves will be valves.
The Case of the Misplaced Spritz is a tale of toilet spray used incorrectly inside an RV bathroom. One of two campers woke up in the middle of the night and needed to take care of some things.
Groggy, she used the spray after she went and not before, which released a fine mist of lemon lavender into the air, which merged into the well known sulfuric malodor we all know and do not love.
The essential oils lacked the power to hold back the stink because they were applied incorrectly, and for the rest of the day, even with the one window open in the bathroom, a strange, confusing and horribly floral and citrus-tinged stink prevailed.
Transform Any RV Camper Into A 5-Star Smelling Experience
General reviews indicate that before-you-go spray is effective at trapping odors and that essential-oil-based products are safe for RV plumbing.
AirWisp receives positive ratings for its scent and effectiveness at preventing odors from escaping the toilet bowl and consumers love the fact that they are often inspired by luxury hotel scents from all over the world.
Many have written about how well they work in small enclosed spaces, their cost-effective nature and the fact that one little bottle can be used up to 100 times.
They are not harmful to RV toilet systems ( cassette toilets, black water tanks), which makes them sought after by campers all over the country.
